Located in Waterton Lakes National Park, along the Akamina Parkway to Cameron Lake, these falls are an off-road treat. We came across these falls on our way to Cameron Lake and the Akamina Pass trailhead. If following the Akamina Parkway, which could easily be named a ‘waterfall highway’, look down into the steep gorge of Cameron creek at about 5-6 kilometres from the Waterton village. A clearing after windy turns in the road will show the falls nestled between steep cliffs on either side of the river.
The falls are accessible from off the road, however caution is advised when decending the steep scree slope from the Akamina parkway. When viewing the falls, one can’t help but notice the swirling current in the pool beneath the falls.
