Sheep Falls are reminicent of Elbow Falls, but beautiful in themselves. Located off a short trail in the Sheep River Wildlife Sanctuary and Provincial Park, these falls are a good spot for the whole family. The area is easy to explore around the falls, and has a trail system that follows the river eastward. A second set of falls is immediately to the the east of the main falls. Both are certainly worth the visit.
To get there, head to Turner Valley and take the Hwy 546 turn-off at a four-way stop within the town. Follow this hwy into Kananaskis Country, through farmland and cattle grazing area for about 34 kilometres, near the end of the road. Provincial park signage will lead you to the falls parking lot. The Sheep River Provincial park has many waterfalls within the area, be sure to check them out.
